Rules Concerning Absence, Leave & Withdrawal ABSENCE

  1. No leave or absence is granted except on prior written application from parents only through online application system using NLP.
  2. Leave may be granted to a student only on the following grounds
    1. In case of serious illness or death of a very near-relative.
    2. For the condolence visits, if the student is the only male member of the family and his presence is essential according to the custom.
    3. To attend the marriage of his / her own brother / sister or brother / sister of either parent.
  3. Every absence (due to sickness or otherwise) must be entered briefly in the Leave Record pages at the end of the Almanac and signed by the Parents / Guardians.
  1. The parents should send the leave application (strictly according to the leave application format given at the end of the Almanac) invariably to school when the child is absent.
    However, if no information of the child’s absence is received by the Class Teacher within ten working days, he / she may send absentee card by post to the parent.
  2. Students who have been sick should inform initially in writing and further should bring an application along with a Medical Certificate from their doctor on joining the school.
  3. A student returning to school after suffering from an infectious or contagious disease, should produce a doctor’s certificate wherein be must be declared fit to attend classes :-

    The prescribed period of quarantine for the following diseases are as follows :-
    1. Chicken pox - Till complete failing of the scabs.
    2. Cholera - Till the child is completely well.
    3. Measles - Two weeks after the rash disappears.
    4. Mumps - Until the swelling has gone ; (about one month)
    5. Whooping Cough - Six Weeks.
    6. Jaundice - Six Weeks after recovery.
  4. Absence without sanctioned leave or unexplained absence for twenty (20) consecutive working days will result in the student’s name being struck off the rolls.
    However Re-admission may be granted at the direction of the Principal only on the payment of fresh admission fee.
  5. All students are expected to attend school on the opening day after each of the vacations. Those absent without sanctioned leave will be fined at the rate of Rs. 10/- per day with AB remarks. Those absent because of sickness must present a medical certificate before they may be admitted to the class.
  6. It is compulsory for the students to complete 75% of their attendance in the year to make them eligible to sit for their final examinations.
